The female is approx. 50 cm long, from head to tail. The male is approx. 25 cm long, head to tail.
The animal lives on Iriomote jima island (Okinawa). The Iriomote wildcat was discovered 74 years ago, which provided world-wide attention. Since there are only about 100 Irimote cats left, they urgently need our protection. |
File 2: The sapphire Lori (Minto)

Head and trunk are together approx. 18cm long. Wings are about 11 cm.
These birds live on the island of Tahiti. This dwarf parrot, also Tahiti blue Lori as mentioned, is related to the Wellensittich. However, this is a rare kind of bird, since there are only 1500-2000 birds left. Its special characteristic is their white throat. The Einfuehung of falcon their natural enemy.

File 3: The finless porpoise (Retasu)

The finless porpoise is approx. 150 cm long from head to tail. And weighs approx. 40 kg.
This whale lives in the Indian and Pacific Ocean. Between Iran and Japan. (Also lives in some rivers as well.) The whale has a crescent-shaped head, a lot like the bottle-nose dolphin. The finless porpoise does not live alone, a lot like other whales they live in herds. The whale is often hunted for meat.

The gold-yellow Lion Tamarin Monkey is from the head to the tail Approx. 20-35 cm long. The tail is 20-30 cm long. The weight is approx. 600-800 gr.
The Golden Lion Tarmarin Monkey lives in the region of Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil. The golden color resembles a lion, hints the name. It soon became a symbol of preservation in tropical rain forests. There is approx. 400 Gold Tamarins left, although they are free game to kill |
File 5: The gray wolf "Canis Lupus" (Zakuro)

Most Wolves are between 82 and 160 cm. Male gray wolves weigh approx. 20-80 kg, and the females are between 18 and 55 Kilos.
The wolf lives in Nordameria, and Europe. The wolf is the largest carnivore within all kinds of dogs. Wolves usually hunt deer although the deer is lager than itself. Feared in-hunted, but there are only 100000 wolves left, world-wide.
